I have a 78 Camaro that i have turned into a pure stock oval track racer. I am trying to lay down a  decent paint job for cheap. It doesnt have to be perfect and probably wont be , but i need to know how much paint to buy to cover it. Im wanting to do a two tone paint job roughly 50% yellow, and 50% green can anyone tell me how much i will need?? Thanx for the help guys....

I would say you need about a gallon of single stage paint to do a car.So you will need a half gallon of each color
Good luck with your project

If you go base/coat clear coat you will need 1 quart of each color because most base coats mix 1:1 and buy a whole gallon kit of clear.  It being a oval track I would paint it in Acrylic Enamel.  Most all paint companys sell a very nice one.  If you have an account with Napa They give great prices on Martin Senour Crossfire.  It mixes 8 parts paint 1 part hardener to 4 parts reducer. 1/2 gallon of each will be plenty and you will have enough left over to touch the car up during the year.  Just don't mix the hardener in with the left over paint.  Mix 1/2 quarts at a time.
