New Life in my '74

I purchased my 74 Nova nearly 13 years ago when I was 17. As you can imagine I had the sweetest ride in my graduating class. It ran for about 3 years. After a few cracked blocks, blown head gaskets, a couple of replacement trannies and, if I remember correctly, 6 starters, this "non-mechanic by trade" GAVE UP! And so she sat for almost a decade. Now believe me I couldn't count the number of offers I had to sell it, but I knew if I did I would surely regret it later. Now circumstances have it, through a new job and recent promotions, I'm finally at a place where i can put the love back into my dream car. I'm a bit more mechanically inclined now but I still don't know all the ins and outs of rebuilding a car even though I work in an automobile manufacturing plant! I'm getting a running 350 from a buddy(eventually I'll supe it up) but I have a few questions. What shoud I do with my running transmission? do I need to flush it out? Fuel tank? fuel lines? How do I address these? I'm sure many more Questions will arise. ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

drain all old fuel, go through the brake system, and service the trans and rear.
