i just had my block tanked, bored cam bearings and freeze plugs changed....my question is does anyone know what the cam bearing positions are? i noticed the last bearing closest to the tranny is positioned different than all the rest....with the block upside down the last bearing oil hole is facing down around 6 o'clock all the rest are at 12 o'clock. they line up with the main oil holes i...again this is with the block upside down i even tried to stick a toothpick in the oiling hole on the last cam bearing and it is blocked so hope this is easy problem thanks

as i recall the #5 cam bearing bore was grooved and oil passes around the outside..
use compressed air to verify this...
the oil also passes around the base of the dizzy...
on early big blocks when rebuilding you need to verify if the rear cam bearing bore is grooved or not... if it is not grooved a special early cam bearing set is used along with a grooved rear cam journal....

very early big blocks had this non grooved rear cam bearing bore problem.... like 65 to sometime in 67,,, every later engine was grooved behind the rear cam bearing so oil would flow around it.. not through the bearing and around the cam and back through the bearing to feed what ever it feeds...
if you blow air into the rear main oil it should blow out the 3 holes and more elsewere...
i really dont think that you have a problem.....
most factory engine manuals have oiling diagrams... along with a few aftermarket ones..
