I recently had a 454 bored over +.70 and installed a stroked internally ballanced eagal crank with eagle "H" Rods.  The Heads are the origional Brodix "Big Brodies" with a 119cc chamber.  My Pistons are SRP and are reated at 10.2:1 with my head cc size.

My question is, how many cubic inches do I have.  The Machine Shop had told me anywhere from 489 to 496.  Who knows the formula for determining Cubic Inches?

Here is the formula:
8x4.25+8x4.50=Y devided 16 squared=cubed inches...

Hell I don't know...I just couldnt resist...hope you share my humor....

I believe stroked as you say with those heads and pistons and .060 over gets you a 496 ci...exactly what ci you have I couldn't say..a hair over 496 and around 497 ci....all of your ci is coming from the stroke not the bore...

4.32 bore,    4,25 stroke,   =  498.35326

4.32 divided by 2 =   2.16
2.16 X 2.16 X 4.25 X 3.1416 X 8 =

if you start with the exact bore measurement as 4.32 is not the exact bore..

it could be 4.2975 to 4.3240 depending on piston size and machined in clearnaces... you bore after measuring the pistons... and then hone to get to the exact size.. you dont bore and hone to the size on the  printed label... measure first...

Multiply your stroke by 113.49 = CI.

Formula: 1/2 bore squared x 3.1416 x stroke x 8

Why did you bring a thread back where the question had already been correctly answered and it hadn't been posted in for 40+ days?
