Hey guys,
Trying to time a ZZ4 crate motor this weekend with a slight issue. With the timing light connected to the #1 plug wire, and idle at 800RPM, the timing mark on the balancer is not visible. If I set the advance on my light to 90deg. the mark is now visible. What gives? The motor runs smooth and has a crisp throttle response. I just can't seem to set timing properly due to the 90deg out.
My thought is the outer ring on the bancer has spun! Any other ideas??????

Thanks in advance for any other ideas!

are you sure its on # 1 wire and not #2..?  was motor new and came this way?  did you set distributor?   double check wires on cap with #1 on TDC compression stroke and go from there....
