I'm currently rebuilding my 350 in school and I'm new to the inside of the motor. I want to find out what parts I can get to build my motor up. Should i go with a 355 or would it be better to build another setup. The motor came out of a 1990 Chevy 1500 it's a 2-bolt main, and as of right now has a TBI. I was wondering what I need to do to build some horsepower out of it. I'm not wanting to go crazy because the money is short but I also want to be able to feel some power. My plan is to go with a carburetor. If any information can be provided thanks.

250k miles and performance dont go well together. time for rebuild, and while your replacing bearings stroke it if you want to.
