Newbie with motors here! I think I have a fuel problem? Maybe someone can help. My 95 GMC C2500 Sierra now has a 383 stroker Which has the following: comp cam 224/230 duration 510/520 lift with 1.6 roller rockers, 10:1 compression, high tin block, pro comp aluminum heads, holley 670 CFM TBI, MSD ignition and distributor. My fuel pressure is 12psi. I have to stand on the throttle to get her to start and she'll run rough for 10 secs or so then dies out like its starving for fuel. Im not sure where to go from here. Do I need a bigger fuel pump? I am confused on the fuel issue. I have been told it goes by the size of the motor. Or does it require more fuel per upgrades within the motor? Any thoughts would be helpful and appreciated.

Check out Turbo City (www.turbocity.com) they've got bigger TBI units for these systems, and also adjustable fuel pressure regulators, which it sounds like you need.

not much on fuel injection but most of everything I have read and fuel injection needs a lot more than 12 psi of pressure sounds like pump problems

sounds like computer related issues to me. put a carb on it. it will be far easier to tune and generaly won't leave you stranded because of some electronic glitch. i dont think you are worried about fuel efficenty as it looks like you are going for power to me. i would like you to know i have a 350 +.03 flat top forged piston (9.75 - 10:1 compression), adv dur int 302 @ .51 lift, adv dur ext 312 @ .533 lift victory Jr Intake, and a Q-Jet carb. i could get 18 - 21 MPG if i keep mmy foot out of it. i ran 12.99 in the 1/4 mile so dont think you will have a better running vehicle with the TBI. all you get is more complexity and the possiblity it will leave you stranded because a wire came loose. sell your TBI on Ebay and get a GOOD Carb and HEI distributor and you will be set.
