So where are the identifiers for a Chevy frame? I need to verify that what I found is indeed teh Gen 3 El Camino frame that I need....

all frames since 1969 have complete vin numbers stampped into them... usually right front and rear tops... that should make it easy to id...
it is truly important to get bills of sales for these frames when you buy them...as some states check the numbers on them when you try to register them in a new state..
it is also a major offence legaly to remove or deface these numbers...
when the state patrol went to look for the vin number on my moms 70 f250 it was missing... from the front location... they started hassling me about welding it over and grinding it off.. ... until i pointed out the frame had the factory paint on it.. and it had never been modified.. they found the second point and checked it there.. and came out really dirty after all the cleaning to get to it... ....

I'm having the same problem as described here. However, I have checked the places you just suggested for the frame vins... no luck. Do you think you could elaborate on the locations more, please? It would be greatly appreciated.

ive recently bought a 1987 regal ,i need to replace the rear rails on the car....is there a aftermarket part for this or do i have to go digging in a junk yard
