Hello

I was hoping some of you could help me..

I overheated and blew my c10's 350 small block..

I melted the pistons because the overheating bulb wasn't operating :[

I know someone with a 305 small block out a 84 chevy car for sale and would like to purchase it..

but i'm unsure if the new 305 will fit up to my tranny and everything else..

I have a mechanic friend who will be helping me but he is out of town for a few days and need to act on this if i'm going to buy it..

any help will be appreciated.

thanks!

it should drop right in be sure to pull the complete harness after disconnecting the ecm...

the only real differnce is a few vacuum connectons and the jetting in the carb...     save all the stuff off the pick up motor and any extra stuff off the 305... use a paint spray can to mark the extra 305 stuff...

A 305 would be a direct swap for a 350, same goes for just about any Chevy small block, they are all the same size with very minor differences on the outside as far as size. Basically you can use the intake, valve covers, water pump, distributer, even the oil pump from the 350 and put it directly on the 305. Same gaskets, brackets for the accessories are a direct swap, and depending on the year of the engine you can even use the oil pan. The beauty of the small block Chevy.
