if you truck has a feedback carb you are halfway there....
if not look at the firewall behind the passenger cyl head for a place to pass a harness...
then it is just doing the assorted wiring... and running fuel lines...and installing the proper fuel pump in the tank.. it might be easier to get a junk yard tank and lines from one with tbi already... you can even use the lines and stuff off a 4.3 tbi truck... i dont know if there is any differnce in line sizes between 4.3,5.0, 5.7. 7.6 motors...probably not...4.3 may be too short at the back of the tbi unit.. the harness will also fit... and please hook up the o2 sensors... .. az has diagrams online... for those older years...
the problem is finding the correct fuel injectors to feed the 383... you might end up using a tbi 454 throttle body and injectors so you get enough airflow and fuel...
one of the most important things is also to replace the orings in the unions and connectors... autozone used to sell them in boxes with bags of 10.. delco will have them... bags of 10 from the autoparts stores are cheeper than a dealer.. large and small.... you will also need the proper small hei unit for an 8...
