ok well been a while since i have seen this thread and i can say that i still have yet to find the problem other than find that air was able to get through the back of the vacuum switch where the pig tail is connected threw in some sealant and it worked for about 60 miles and ses light right back on! so still looking! as far as the charcoal bits you will notiec how the lines from the canister will have tiny bits of charcoal and thats how you will no its bad. i will say that if you think you have issues with it change it and disconect and blow out all the line so they dont make their way into the engine!
