HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOUR LATE MODEL SMALLBLOCK CHEVY HAS A ROLLER CAM?

I have no idea without pulling the intake manifold.Might be able to peek thru distrubutor hole with a flashlight and mirror.I would get the casting numbers off the engine and take them to your local machine shop/dealership,they should be able to tell you something.Or....order a new set of lifters for it based on what it came in from the factory and see what shows up

What year is the motor? Is it a car or truck engine.

Without pulling the intake, the onyl way to know is your motor's year of manufacture. All passenger cars had roller cams starting in 87-88, all trucks had roller cams starting in 1996. But, all engine blocks were cast for roller cams starting in '87.
