"cid" usually refers to cubic inches of displacement. It probably should be denoted as C.I.D., as this is the way you'd usually see it in a manual, but you know how punctuation is on a message board.

   Without sonic testing the block boring 80/1000" is
   a gamble which ain't worth taking as you would know
