I read about the college kid with the el camino and seen that you guys had some really good ideas for him. But I have a 1994 Caprice Classic with a 5.7L 350. It is an old squad car. And I was just wondering on what ideas people have for me to add some more horsepower to it. I am looking at trying to get 350 horsepower or a little better and I don't have much money with paying for classes, food, gas, and all that stuff. So I was wondering on what I can do to make it quicker and just a better all around vehicle for the dollar.

im not exactly a college kid, but im an industrial maintenance apprentice at mercedes benz in alabama. i'm getting paid to go but its not much. its enough to pay the bills and tinker with my truck. i have a 1987 gmc 1500 with a 383 and stock throttle body. i recently bought vortec heads, intake for four barrell, msd 6-al, blaster coil, and distributor for around 700 dollars. i just looked on ebay and found some deals. i would suggest doing the same. i'm buying piece by piece so i can afford it.

i would recomend the same thing. Buying piece by piece is alot cheaper not unless you find a package deal thats worth being broke for a while....but it requires patience.

In my opinion gears and a stall will give you the biggest bang for your buck. Your stock cop car rear end is probably a 3:08, bumping up to a 3:73 will make a huge difference on the seat of the pants dyno.

since it is an lt1, check out carcraft.com. they just got through talking about the lt1 in a previous article, plus there are several posts over there about the lt1 and b body cars that would probably help out alot
