have a 69 427.going .60 over on the motor. the heads had some work done on the ports.stock cast closed chamber oval port heads. wanna use 11-209-3 comp cam and was thinking about a tri-power setup . don't want to change the hood on the car so the choices of manifolds are very limited. any thoughts on this combo?

The cam choice is fine for a mild engine that will retain near-stock (or at least pump gas) compression. Tri-powers are really only for appearance or nostalgia. For such a mild engine a single carb would probably be the best horsepower per dollar ratio but whatever suits your fancy...

I realize the tri power setup isn't the greatest but the only other choice I have is a torker 2 manifold or the stock manifold.hood clearence is an issue don't want to change it

Well the tri-power just isn't cheap, like I said if you're worried about the budget go with the single carb...

The problem with tri-power carbs is they're a mother to tune, and are far less forgiving if anything with the carbs isn't just right.
If you've got hood clearance issues, you can find a good single carb manifold that won't give you any trouble, and you'll be a lot happier with. The stock manifold with a good Q-Jet carb will serve you well.

Use that torker 2 and the Holley 750. You will be happy with it. If you already have the parts you will save your self a ton of money and the car will run great.
Happy motoring Russ
