Hey, My first car, a 1989 Camaro RS with a 2.8L 173c.i. V6 and a TH700R4 automatic, has bit the dust. The car is in great shape, despite the engine problems, so I decided I can't junk it, but rather, I would like to swap another engine in. As much as I'd like to swap in a 350 or even a 305, it wont happen for 2 reasons, 1. insurance, 2. Gas Milage. On the other hand, there is no way I am putting in another 2.8, so I have decided on a 4.3 V6. The engine is out of my brother's 1990 Silverado, which is a 4spd(L,1,2,3-R) manual. I would like to know if anyone has performed this and could give me tips on what I need... I would like to know if I need a diff wiring harness, engine mounts, bell housing, flexplate, etc? Any information would be appreciated . . . thanks

I know this is an old post, but, Bro your insurance co isn't gonna lift your hood! They go by the vin# If you don't have a 8 or an f on the 8th digit of your vin they're not comin to look. Relax, get a smallblock, you'll feel better!
