what happens if you plug the oil bypass on the oil filter spin-on fitting.  it has that flap off on the side.  if i understand correctly, this lets unfiltered oil cycle through the engine, but when?  cold?  low pressure?  high pressure?  and how could unfiltered oil be beneficial to and engine?  if i plug it, what would happen?  thanks for any help anyone can provide.
