What Ive read and heard combined, vortec 454's seem to b a good engine.Be a heck ofa lot of work, but I think BB's are worth the time. You may want to check into the numbers for the thing, find out what it is.I like forged cranks in my BBS cause they dont flex so much. You wind'em,that is a good principle to start with. But for a driver cast crank's are fine.I was talkin to a guy a while back bout an older chev truck he put a 96'vortec 454 in using Painless Wiring.Said it wasnt to bad.A weekend steady at it.He recomended replacing all the sencors while the engine was out.Well we know thats just good sense anyway. Some of them arent cheap, but who wants to fight'em later after in the car.Do it all right I think it'll b a nice ride.
