hi , i am looking to rebuild an original motor . I am thinking of going with a .030 over bore , 280* cam , and am looking to get a good amount of torque without losing too much horsepower . this car came with 145 hp originally (due to emissions in CA and a 2bbl) when i rebuild this it will have a 4bbl carb (if i can find the linkage) . anyway i was wondering who to get a reasonably price master deluxe kit from as well as suggestions for the parts i will need . this will be my first rebuild. thanks .

Make sure you get a good amount of compression for a 280° cam. Look at Northern Auto Parts for cheap rebuild kits. You can option in Comp valvetrain parts, Speed-Pro slugs, Cloyes timing chains etcetera. Find a good machine shop if you don't think assembly is for you.
