Hello everyone I was just wondering if anyone has tried tuning their carb with the Innovate Motorsports LM-1 Wideband tuning device and LMA-3 Aux Box, which CHP used in their mag. If anyone has please enlighten me with your results and how you liked it. I want to do an engine swap in my 79 el camino and am debating whether to use a factory engine with fuel injection for good gas milage and power or either using this method of tuning with a demon carb or holley to achieve similar results.
Thanks!

Hi
I have a LM-1 and LMA-2. The best thing I ever bought. I data log AFR,RPM,MAP,TPS,Fuel pressure and tranny pressure. My 750 Demon was pig rich out of the box. The plugs where black and wet. You can log your run and look at it latter and see what its doing. You can see your tip in, light cruise, highway cruise and WOT. I found problems I didn't know I had. Like low tranny pressure and fuel pressure. Fuel pressure was fine until you did a 1/4 mile pass then it went to less than a 1 LB at the end of 2nd gear. I prewired mine with 5V power supply so all I do is clip it to your battery, put the 02 in your bung or use the tail pipe adapter, connect whatever sensors you want and I can use it on other cars. If you are going to go this way I would use a Race Demon or a Holley HP. They  allready have adjustable air bleeds. I had to drill and tap mine For airbleeds, idle resricter and Power valve channel restricter. Plugs are now clean and gas mileage is way up.

Hi, thanks for the reply, it sounds like it works really well. So you had to buy all of those sensors (AFR,RPM,MAP,TPS,Fuel pressure and tranny pressure) in order to  view their status? Were they expensive? I plan on buying a vortec 350 motor and using a 383 stroker kit with it for my el camino and will probably buy a demon carburetor as well. I really do want to see what kind of performance and milage I can achieve with this type of tuning. Just curious, what engine do you have and what set of front fenders is it filling?
Thanks

I have a 81 Trns AM with a 383 SBC. Comp roller cam. AFR 190 heads and RPM intake. I got the TPS and the MAP sensors from the junk yard. Made a braket for the TPS. Bought one 0 to 15lb sensor from Autometer, Summit sells the for about $100. Found a guy on the Innovate Forum and got some 0 to 100LB sensors for about $22 us. It tells you how to make a 5V power supply in the Innovate manuals, the LMA-3 has its own 5V power supply for the sensors. Last time I figured gas mileage I got about 18 MPG on the highway driveing alittle hard and reving at 2800 to 3000 RPM. I have 3.42 gears and a 3000 stall.
