It seems that my truck is overheating.  Can you tell me wich is the normal operating temperature range for the 1997 Vortec 4300 V6 Engine?

Thank you

Normal factory set operating temp is about 200 degrees, you probably see excersions to to 220 with a long idle or in heavy slow moving traffic.

The cooling system is 10 years old with an aluminum and plastic radiator, it's probably due for replacement. Also check out the electric fan which might have failed.

While there you might as well plan on all hoses, the heater core, and thermostat.
