I have a 1970 camero that has a bone stock 350 in it now. A freind gave me a used 454 which I want reuild and modify to put in the camero, but I still want to be able to use it as a weekend driver, with some strip time. Will installing the 454 cause a lot problems with over heating? And is there anything else I should keep in mind when swaping the motors?

It's always a good idea to run a fresh radiator with a new engine. In the long run it's cheaper than cooking a new engine. The Camaro is dimension limited so the 454 radiator will have to fit in the same space as the the 350's. The difference will be in tube count, you'll want a heavy duty unit with 4 rows of tubes.
But wait, what about the transmission and rear axle and maybe even the drive shaft. The 350 has what for a gear box. A TH-350 will not like a 454 attached to it. Other than a 12 bolt rear axle will be skating on thin ice as well. So the cost of replacing these things has to be figured in.
The front suspension will need help, the 454 is a lot heavier than the 350 so the front spings will have to be replaces with those from the big block model Camaro, same goes for the anti-sway bar.
So the details add a lot of cost to the swap.

Thanks for the advise, Do you know of a good size trans that would be able to with stand alot of abuse from the engine. I have a ford nine inch already installed for the 350 do you think that will that be strong enough? Thanks again for some directon in this project. John

A Ford 9 inch will be happy behind a 454.
Tranny depends on what you want, automatic or manual. For automatic you'll need something on the order of a TH-400, if you want overdrive and lockup and can afford a computer to run it, a 4L80E would work, these come in late model 454 pickups.
A manual 4 speed such as the 1970 era super T-10, or a Muncie. Later more modern solution would be a T-56 which gives 6 speeds, 2 of which are OD and plenty of beef to live between a 454 and 9 inch. A Doug Nash is another contender.
